Privacy Policy

Version 2026-10-02 · Last updated October 2, 2026

In short: your resumes, job postings and notes are yours. They are private to your workspace, never sold, never used for advertising and never used to train models. You can ask us to export or delete everything at any time.

1. Who we are

Vershinia ("we", "us") is a career companion at vershinia.com that helps you keep job postings, build a profile of your experience, check and tailor your resume, and prepare for interviews. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who processes it and the choices you have. Questions or requests: [email protected].

2. What we collect

  • Account: your email address and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google.
  • What you add: resumes you upload or paste, the facts of your experience in your profile, job postings you save (including copies we keep of them), and your private notes.
  • A free resume check without an account: the resume you submit and its results. To keep free checks to one per person a day, we also keep a scrambled, one-way fingerprint of the email address, phone number, and name with postal code in it — never the details themselves.
  • Technical information: your IP address, browser type and the time of requests, used for security, preventing abuse and keeping the service running. Our security check (Cloudflare Turnstile) looks at technical signals to tell people from bots.
  • Consent records: which version of these documents you accepted, when, and from which IP address.
  • Payments (when paid plans launch): handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We don't store card numbers.

3. How we use it

  • To provide the service: keep your job postings, analyze them, build and check your profile and resumes, show how you match a job, and keep your account secure.
  • To send emails about your account (for example, confirming your email address or resetting your password).
  • To prevent fraud and abuse, enforce plan limits and fix problems.

We do not sell your information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it with advertisers.

4. Automated analysis

Vershinia uses language models and other tools to read job postings and resumes and to suggest improvements. To do this, the text you submit is sent to our model provider (currently Anthropic), which processes it to produce the result. Under its commercial terms, the provider does not use this content to train its models; it may keep it for a limited time under its own terms, for example to detect misuse. Results are suggestions: you decide what to change and what to send to employers. Vershinia never invents experience — tailored content is built only from facts in your profile.

5. Never used for training

We do not use your resumes, profile, job postings or notes to train models, and we don't allow our providers to do so.

6. Who processes it for us

We share information only with service providers that help us run Vershinia, and only what they need:

  • DigitalOcean — hosting, database and file storage (Toronto, Canada).
  • Anthropic — the language models that analyze the text you submit (United States).
  • Cloudflare — the security check on sign-up, sign-in and the free resume check.
  • Our email delivery provider — to send account emails.
  • Our error reporting service — to find and fix bugs; it is set up not to receive personal information.
  • Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google.
  • Stripe — payments, when paid plans launch.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public. If Vershinia is ever sold or merged, your information would move to the new owner only under the promises in this policy, and we would tell you first.

7. Where your information is stored

Your account, workspace and files are stored in Canada. Some providers (such as our model provider) process information in the United States or other countries, where it may be subject to the laws of those countries, including access by courts or authorities there.

8. How long we keep it

  • Your account and workspace: until you delete them or ask us to.
  • A free resume check without an account: deleted automatically within 24 hours, unless you create an account and choose to keep it. The scrambled fingerprints and how often each was used are kept for 30 days to prevent abuse — longer only if a fingerprint is blocked for abuse.
  • Items you remove from your profile: kept in "Recently removed" for 30 days so you can undo, then deleted.
  • Backups: kept for a limited period, then overwritten.
  • Consent records: kept as proof of what was accepted.

9. Your rights and choices

You can see and edit what's in your workspace at any time. You can also ask us to give you a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete your account and everything in it, and you can withdraw your consent (which means closing your account). Until these tools are built into Vershinia, email [email protected] and we'll respond within 30 days. If you have a concern we can't resolve, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law.

10. Security

We use encrypted connections, hash passwords, keep your files in private storage and check on every download that a file is yours. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee that information will never be accessed without permission; if a breach affecting you happens, we will tell you as the law requires.

11. Cookies and browser storage

We use only the cookies the service needs: to keep you signed in, to protect forms against forgery, and for the security check. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. If we ever add privacy-respecting usage statistics, we'll update this policy first.

12. Browser extension

The Vershinia extension reads a web page only when you click it, and only the tab you're on. It sends the text you select (or the job description it finds) to your workspace. It keeps its connection to your account in your browser, and a job waiting to be saved is kept in memory only, for at most an hour. You can disconnect it at any time.

13. Age

Vershinia is for people who are at least 18 years old. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you believe we have, please contact us and we'll delete it.

14. Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with its date. If the change matters for how your information is used, we'll ask you to accept it again before you continue.
